Motivating

I just looked back at old posts...and the month of April seems to have been my best month. I was on track with points/weighing food/measuring portions/writing it all down... and that is when I saw the most results and was the closest to my goal... That just made me realize that I can do this :) I am back to feeling motivated!! (Probably until I get out to dinner tonight! Haha) But being dead serious, when you take the WW plan seriously and don't lie to yourself about what you ate or how much of something you ate, you will see results... I am excited to get back on track..... for the 900000th time! hahaha You can do it too!!

Hi there :)

I figured that I'd do a mid-week check in.... my week isn't going as bad as I thought but not that good either. It is my Birthday week, so that is my excuse. I have dinner out tonight, tomorrow night and Friday night.... Can't wait :) I'll try to remember and post my food from the past few days... the weekend I totally slacked on writing things down... I need to stop having free for alls on weekends! I'm never going to get anywhere that way! Monday: Arnolds 1 LC 1 yogurt 1 popcorn 1 Lean cuisine 5 Cake 6 M&Ms 5 Salad 2 arnolds 1 turk and cheese 4 cheese 4 crackers 2 beer 1 Total: 34 Over:12 Bonus: None, I keep inhaling them all and then some on the weekends! Tuesday: Skinny Latte starbucks 2 arnolds 1 Laughing cow 1 lean cuisine 5 popcorn 1 snack crap 5 shrimp 4 noodles 6 brushetta on a baguette 6 Total: 31 Over: 9

Fat, Fat, Fat

I am having a fat, fat, fat week.... excuse me until next Monday :)

WW Week 2

So week 2 went well with everyone at work!! I am proud of the girls!! I personally had a pretty good week. I lost 2.2 pounds and also was able to do some push-ups, sit-ups and squats throughout the week. My weekend didn't start off so well, but I did pretty good Mon-Thurs. I made it a point to drink my water everyday and try to leave myself around 12 points for dinner. Next week the goal will be NOT to use all of my bonus points and then some by Day 2! LOL But anyway....here's to a new week!! Yesterday's Food arnolds 1 Skinny Latte 2 LC 1 Lean Cuisine 4 baked chips 3 chicken 3 rice 2 salad 6 m&ms 2 total: 24 Water: 88 ounces

Phewie....

Okay, I'm feeling much better today, I did my push-ups (holy hell), sit-ups and squats last night and I had a pretty good day of eating AND most importantly my grey pants fit me!! That was exiting, they were snug last week and today they fit! That was so exciting to me :) Just wanted to share! Yesteday's Food: DD flatbread 6 Yogurt 1 Lean Cuisine 4 Arnolds 1 Laughing Cow 1 Salad 6 Roll 3 Soup 1 Skinny Latte 2 Total: 25 Over: 3

Size-izzle...

Okay so as I've been shifting weight and changing sizes up and down and round and round...I think that I have discovered how they figure out women's sizes in pants.... 170's - size 12 160's - size 10 150's - size 8 140's - size 6 130's - size 4 120's - size 2 110's - size 0 I also have figured out how can you can be in between sizes.... if you are over the halfway mark in one of the weights...you will notice you're pants will become a bit snug... LOL you might need to move up a size to be cozy again...however that size will probably be a little big... for example right now I am 147 and my 6's are not really cutting it the way that they used to, I probably should buy some 8's! But instead I will wear my one pair of 6's that fit and just keep on trucking...hahahha

Fired Up....

Ugh...I can't seem to drop a pound or even feel lighter...I'm getting frustrated and my pants still feel snug!!!! Hopefully someday I will lose maybe an ounce or something....just something!! Anyway, my abs are super sore from doing push-ups... I am not at all good at the "boy" push-ups so I have to use everything I got in my ab area to keep me up and in "good form". I have no clue how I'm going to bust them out tonight! I guess you just do it! :) Anyway, thanks for letting me vent.... I keep telling myself 2 months and I should be able to drop around 10 pounds... Fingers Crossed Yesterday's Food: Arnolds 1 LC 1 Crackers 2 LC 1 Healthy Choice 4 Hoagie 8 Chips 3 Mac Salad 6 Popsicle 1 Total: 27 Over: 5 Bonus left: -20 LOL and I wonder why I can't drop a pound!!

Yesterday's Food

Water: 75 ounces

Week 1

Oh yeah and today I start week one's "training" of push-up's, sit-ups and squats. I'll let you know tomorrow how it goes!

oooooooooppppssss!

Okay, so weekend number one was not so good...but that's okay I'm all out of bonus and then some "air" points as I like to call them...but I'm feeling okay about things. I made good choices when I was out, but I was still over my points... so not so bad, but definetely not so good either! I am going to have to try to stick to my daily points everyday....which means making it to dinner with at least 12 points left... That seems to be my hardest part of the day.... Here is my food from the weekend: Friday: arnolds 1 lc 1 healthy choice 8 popcorn 3 beer 3 pasta salad 4 tacos 12 total: 32 Over: 10 Left: 25 Saturday: egg whites 1 chicken chili 4 cheese dip 8 salad 3 salmon 4 filet 2 bernaise 8 creamed spinach 3 roll 3 cocktails 7 Total: 47 Over: 25 Bonus left: 0 Sunday: arnolds 2 cheese 5 100 cal oreos 2 beer 6 chicken 3 roll 3 potatoes 1 crabcake 3 sausage 3 potatoes 2 doritoes 3 icing 3 ww ice cream 2 Total: 38 Over: 16 Bonus left: NONE I had none to start!

Sit-ups, Squats and Push-ups...Oh My!

Okay so I keep seeing a post on http://www.ronisweigh.com/ that talks about a challenge of push-ups, sit-ups and squats. Here is the challenge. I'm going to try it out!! I challenge you too as well!!! There is no excuse not to be able to do this.... you do not need a gym, weights, nice weather, that much time, to be home, etc, etc, etc :) http://www.blogtolose.com/profiles/blogs/why-wait-challenge-starts-this How many can you do????????? I will post my results tomorrow...should be interesting :)

Day 1....not so good...LOL

Okay....so Day 1 was a bust. Not a total bust, it started off just fine.....BUT dinner killed me. I am really having a hard time with the portion control part of this... Welcome Back....

Just wanted to welcome myself and whoever else is out there reading this :) I am back in action... WW is in full effect along with a new school year! I started the day off with some yogurt...we will see where the rest of the day leads....Good luck to everyone that is currently on WW and just starting brand new today! We can do it!

Don't eat the quesadillas!!

No clue how one and a half pieces of a quesadilla appetizer can seriously put you OVER for the day! But anyway here is yesterday: Yogurt 1 Salad 10 (I think I overcounted for my salad, but I'd rather be over then under) Quesadilla 14 Ham 6 Potatoes 2 Salad 2 WW ice cream 2 Bite cheese cake 2 Total: 39 Over: 19 Bonus left: 12 Activity: 30 Day Shred Level 2 (That was sooo hard!) One week down...

K...going onto week 2...last week wasn't that bad... I was def. over points and used all of my bonus points by day 2 but by writing things down, it did help me to get back on track. I'm feeling like this week will be a good one :) I weighed in this morning at 146.0, so I lost 2.6 pounds from last week. I will take it! I am 11 pounds away from my goal..... getting there....slowly but surely. My friend Jami re-introduced me to the Jillian Michaels 30 minute Shred workout. I forgot how good it is! It's quick and pushes you! It's on On Demand for Comcast and Verizon. You can also buy the DVD too. There are either 2 or 3 parts, I'm not sure, but as you get better at 1 you move onto the next one and so on.... So heres to a good week of eating and shredding!

So hard...

Why is it so much harder to behave in the summer? I think the only reason that I am excited to go back to work is to get back on track with WW!! I am trying though...even though I'm not sticking to the points, even just writing things down to start is def. helping! I'm also trying to drink water again... I already drank my 88 ounces for the day!

Yesterday's Food

Fruit 1 peanuts 3 salad 5 cheese curls 1.5 salad 2 arnolds 1 turkey 2 baked chips 2 m&m's 5 drinks 6 app 8 Total: 36.5 Over: 16.5 Bonus left: 0

Uh-Oh!

K....so after 40 trips to the shore and a trip to Punta Cana, I have officially gained about 10 pounds.... I now weigh 148.6...EWGH! I'm praying that I can blame it on the al-al-al-al-co-hol... but I've been eating crappy too... so I'm back on the WW bandwagon full fledged. I just started writing everything down and all. I am going to drink my 88 ounces of water and try to behave :) Hopefully I can get back down around my goal weight rather then back up around my starting weight! LOL Anyway hope that everyone is having a great summer! Can't believe it's August...how depressing :( Talk to you all soon!!! Wish me luck!

Summertime :)

Here are some tips to some lowfat outdoor fun: 1. Arnolds (seperate the top from the bottom so you have 2 pieces) In a bowl, mix a packet of either fat free or light cream cheese with a packet of Good Seasons Italian Dressing Mix) Spread that on top of the arnolds . Cut each half into 4 slices and then top with a slice of cucumber and sprinkle on some dill... DELISH 2. A veggie tray with dip (I use breakstone's Fat Free Sour Cream and a packet of Hidden Valley Ranch Dip) This is a great staple app to have things to pick on that are healthy 3.) Turkey Pepperoni and Reduced Fat Kraft Sharp Cheddar Cheese with Fiber Select Wheat Thin Crackers 4.) Crab Ball -mix Fat Free Cream Cheese and a can of jumbo lump crab meat then top with cocktail sauce Served with Fiber Select Wheat Thin Crackers 5.) Shrimp Cocktail 6.) Chicken and Veggie Skewers on the grill 7.) Salsa made with a can of mexican corn, a can of black beans (rinsed), 2 avocados, a diced plum tomato, 1/4 cup of salsa and garlic

Happy July!

Hi everyone! Just checking in to say hello! I can't believe that it's already July, my how time does fly :) Well I hope that everyone is having a great summer. I haven't really been on the computer since I am off so I haven't been keeping up with my posts. I will try to get on here more frequently to say hello and see how everyone is doing. Enjoy!

Week 19

Gained 2.4. I knew last week was too good to be true! LOL That's okay though, I haven't been eating my correct dosage of points and I only got one day in of exercising last week plus a few push-ups and crunches here or there..... Anyway here's to a new week!

Taco Ring...can't get enough... 1/8 = 7 points

Image
Tonight's dish was a taco ring using the crescent rolls.... It's the new move (well actually it's a new/old move) ...so easy and delish! http://www.recipezaar.com/Taco-RingFrom-Pered-Chef-81160 I used 90/10 lean ground meat and drained it and rinsed it under hot water to remove the remaining grease and fat. I also used Sargento reduced 4 cheese mexican cheese. I topped with some fat free sour cream and a little bit of salsa! Yum! Enjoy!

Chicken and Broccolli Ring 1/8th ring 7 points

Image
My friend found this awesome recipe and she made it and it looked so delish that I decided to make it too! I wanted to share it with all of you. She used light mayo, light cheese, reduced fat crescent rolls and skipped the almonds to cut down on calories and points. It turns out to make 16 pieces and 2 pieces is worth 7 points. Not bad at all! I also added onions to the recipe as well. I sauteed the chicken, peppers, garlic and onion(due to a good suggestion from my friend) beforehand then chopped it all up. It added lots of flavor! It was satisfying and filling and def. delish! I skipped the almonds as well. Here is the link! http://recipesbykim.blogspot.com/2008/11/chicken-and-broccoli-ring-pamperedchef.html Enjoy!! You can use crescent rolls to make alot of different dishes. You could make a taco ring with taco meat and cheese, or a cheesesteak ring using chipped steak and cheese or a chicken cheesesteak ring using ground chicken and cheese (even add some hot sauce to spice it up!)

Chunky Checking In...

K...so it's been a few days since I've said hello...so here I am :) I've been so busy with wrapping up the end of the school year that I haven't been able to check in...so I'm back... I haven't been doing a good job with writing down my food at all either! I feel like a hypocrite b/c I'm trying to help my Mom get into WW and my bf get back into it, but I've been a slacker! It's funny, once I hit the 140 mark I kind of let myself go a little bit. I def. eat better then I ever did though so I am content with that for the moment. It's funny to me when I crave yogurt... that just seems weird to me but I am happy with it...if that makes sense! I am going to try to get to 135 during the summer and also focus on exercising at least 3 times a week. I think that seems like reasonable goals. It's tough to eat healthy when I'm down the shore or even at home during the day. I give many props to stay at home Mom's...b/c there is no way I co

No clue how...

I lost 5 pounds this week. I have no clue how. I almost fell over when the scale said 136.6. I actually re-weighed myself 3 times before I got in the shower and a 4th time when I got out of the shower and each time is said the same thing. So weird, I feel like I've been eating badly. Well not bad, but def. not strict. I think it has to do with being a girl and certain times of the month and all that jazz... but anyway here's to week 18 :) Oh a good luck note... I wanted to wish my bf best of luck on her WW journey that starts today! I know she will do great :) Yesterday: Eng Muffin spray butter 1 cake 6 salad 4 chicken pasta 5 salad 2 cocktails 14 Total: 32

WW Works...

3 Fantastic WW accomplishments/stories: 1.) I just wanted to give a BIG shout out to my girlfriend who just started the WW plan last week and lost 5.2 pounds in her first week!! Way to go!! It's really so rewarding and motivating to see results so fast....I'm so proud of her! 2.) Another girlfriend of mine was under the 140 mark today!!! WOO HOO!! Great Job!! 3.) My Mom is starting today too and she began by measuring her cream for her coffee and already realized she was using more then a serving size :) I'm so proud of her for measuring! Great Job to all of my girls for all of their hard work!!! Yesterday's Food: 1/2 bagel 3.5 Cream cheese 2 Egg Casserole 2 Hash brown 3 Salad w/chicken 3 Lemon/Blueberry pound cake mini bite 3 Shrimp pasta 5 Salad 2 Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sand 2 Total: 25 Over: 5 Bonus left: no clue, probably none! Here's to a new week :)

Image
This weekend I went to the beach with my BF, her 2 daughters, her sister and her sister's friend...and we had a great time!! The weather was crappy for the first 2 days so we hung in, rented "He's just not that into you", which was really cute by the way, ate, snoozed, entertained the kiddos, facebooked, googled, emailed and then ate again....it was very relaxing but we were SO ready to see the sun!! When the sun finally came out you kind of forget that it was just raining for the past 48 hours. So we decided to take a walk down to the beach and play at the park that is pretty much on the beach. It was fun! After that we came back home and decided to put the baby pool on the deck and hang out there. It's tough to sit on the beach or sit anywhere actually with a 2 yr. old and a 2 week old, but we did a pretty good job! We hung on the deck for a little bit and then made tacos for dinner. After dinner, we got ice cream, watched some tv and went to bed! Sunday morning

Not so bad :)

Image
Okay so yesterday was def. a better day food wise! I still had some snacks and was over my 20 points but no where near the 30 points that I've been over lately :) I also wanted to share the pasta that I use nowadays. I really cannot get into the whole wheat pastas, they just don't do it for me...BUT I did find this Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta, it comes in all different types of pasta and it is fabulous! Here is the description of it from the website :) RONZONI® SMART TASTE™ is a new member of the New World Pasta family of brands. What's so special about RONZONI SMART TASTE? It's the first white pasta to be enriched with fiber and calcium -- and lots of it. Three times the fiber and calcium equal to an eight-ounce glass of milk. Studies show that many diets are lacking in these two important nutrients. Plus, RONZONI SMART TASTE is lower in calories and fat than traditional pasta. That means RONZONI SMA

Off the beaten path....

Okay...so for the past 3 weeks or so I have NOT been doing a good job counting, weighing and watching my points and food intake nor have I been exercising! I am starting to feel the results of that.... So the only thing that I can do about it is...start over :) I am going to start fresh today and try to count and behave like I was in the past :) I am also going to encorporate some sort of daily exercise into my life, even if it's just walking the dog! I would still like to lose about 10 more pounds and then I will be done :) However, at the rate that I am eating...I will never lose those last 10! I'm going to go back to week one of my blog and re-read to see how I did when I was doing so well! So here's to a new start :) Yesterday's Food arnolds 1 laughing cow 1 arnolds, laughing cow and cucumber sandwich 2 popcorn 1 salad 2 munchkin 1 cheez-its 4 cheetos 4 m&m's 5 crab cake 3.5 noodles 4 salad 2 skinny cow ice cream 2 crackers 2 light port wine cheese 2 Tota

Okay so I officially quit trying to do WW on the weekends.... well not officially quit, but it is tough! I am not doing that great at it!! I have no clue how to get myself together either! LOL Especially on loooong weekends.... I def. noticed that I do make some better choices automatically along with not eating sooooo much of one thing, so that is something different for me! I went out Friday night for a little bit for my friend Kristen's birthday.... It was fun! She sent this pic her and I and I thought the it was cute, so I decided to post it! It's funny to see myself looking skinnier. I do not feel that I look any different, but then I see pics and I am pleasantly surprised. It's weird! Hope that everyone had a great weekend and I hope that this week of rain flies by! Only 15 days left of work for me and I can't wait... I am def. looking forward to spending alot of time hanging with my girlfriends and going to the beach! I'm TRYING my best to get out of my funk

Okay..Round 59539529

Well, obviously my fresh start over the weekend didn't go so well. I am still in a funk...trying to shake it! Each day goes up and down and up and down... Ugh... I just wish that I could jump into the future to see where it will lead me and know that everything is going to be allright.... BUT that's not how things work, so here I am trucking along day by day reminding myself that everything happens for a reason and I will be okay :) With that being said...whenever you are in a funk, you turn to your Best Friends to pull you through...well my best friend just happens to be about 11 months preggo...she was due on Friday! Poor thing.... but needless to say we had a preggo style eating filled weekend! From hoagies and chips all the way to a reese's peanut butter cup blizzard! YUM to the UM!! I did happen to get two five mile run/walks in and a couple salads as well but most of my food choices weren't the best....I mean they tasted the best but weren't the best for me :)

Convenient

My friend just asked me how to calculate activity points and I thought that I posted a link to it on here, but I couldn't find it on here....so here it is. This is pretty convenient b/c it has both the point calculator and the activity calculator.... I added it to my website links on the right side as well :) http://www.meganandjack.com/points_calculator.htm

Babble Babble

Whenever I'm away from the computer, I always think of a million things that I want to write about...then I sit at the computer and NOTHING....what the heck.... 2 random things.... I did want to write about my skinny caramel latte from Starbucks.(3 points for a grande, 2 points for a tall) .. I didn't like the skinny vanilla one, but for some reason the caramel one sounded fantabulous today.... so I got it and I don't really like it...LOL if you like coffee, you will def. enjoy....I think next time I would get extra caramel..... but better yet, I'll just stick to my morning tea from DD, can't go wrong with that one! Delish! Another thing..... Weigh in day has been changed to Friday. My two girlfriends and I decided last night... Monday weigh in's are too annoying...so now we will be able to enjoy the weekends :) I def. think that it was good to do for the beginning, b/c it held me more accountable on the weekends but now I'm feeling pretty confident that I w

Weirdest...

So I wore my jeans last night for a couple hours and when I was wearing them I wasn't super happy with them. The one seam on my right leg was goofy and they were starting to stretch out and I wasn't in love with the color. They just didn't feel as rewarding as they should of if that makes any sense.... they kind of just seemed like another old pair of normal jeans... so when I got home, I decided that today I would take them back and start over looking for a new pair.... So with that being said, I went back to Old Navy this morning and returned the jeans, then headed back to the jean section and grabbed a million different pairs in 6's and ready for this.....one pair in 4! My friend told me the other day that someone told her that since jeans always seem to stretch try them in a smaller size. So I figured what the hell, I'll try them... Well I went into the dressing room with my 4 million pairs of jeans and began to try them on. I got to the 3rd pair and it was

I am bored... not that I don't have 40000000 things to do..... BUT I'm not in the mood.... and for some odd reason when I'm bored, I become hungry.... Can anyone figure that one out.... Right now I am trying not to eat useless junk that I don't even want but since I am bored and it is there it looks good.... The Chewy Sweet Tarts already got me, I will not give into the popcorn and nutrigrain bars..... Funniest thing is that they're not even bad for me...but I will be mad later when I don't have the points for something waaaay more delish... like ice cream and of course my newest addiction....teddy grahams and funfetti icing...... Yum to the Um...

I was trying to think of new low point fun lunch ideas, so I googled 2 point lunches and I found this great site! http://weight-watchers-points-recipes.blogspot.com/ I will def. add this to a link on the WW websites that I use everyday section of my blog. I am craving the Turkey Taco Lettuce Wraps... 2 for 3 points!!! http://weight-watchers-points-recipes.blogspot.com/2009/04/turkey-taco-lettuce-wraps-3-pts.html I just might have to whip them up! Anyway it is a great site, it has meal and snack ideas from 0 points all the way up to 8 points along with everything being classified into app, meal, dessert, etc. Just found these too, Black Bean Brownies (2 pts).... sound interesting... all of the reviews were good.. I think I'll have to try! I think it's funny that a couple people say that if they can try the recipe out on the husband and he doesn't notice then it's good stuff! Hahaha...so true... damn picky men! http://weight-watchers-points-recipes.blogspot.com/2008/06/b

Weight Loss Plateau

I have been b/n 142 and 143 for the past month now and I am wondering if I hit a weight loss slump... so I looked it up and found some info.... Here are some suggestions for getting over the hill and I wanted to share :) http://www.healthdiscovery.net/articles/15Plateau_tips.htm I liked this suggestion: 12. Try varying your number of points Do you always eat at a certain number of points per day? Your body gets very efficient at predicting its intake and adjusts itself accordingly. Keep it guessing. Try mixing up the number of points you have...low one day, middle the next, back to low, then high end of your points. 4 things that I will do differently this week: a.) Have egg whites and cheese with my arnolds and laughing cow for bfast instead of a yogurt b.) exercise c.) vary my daily point intake (ex. Monday 19, Tuesday 25, Wednesday 22, etc.) d.) count out chip serving size and only have once or twice this week instead of everyday! haha What are you going to try?????

Another Week....

K, so today I weighed in and was 143.3...how annoying I gained 1.1 pounds...oh well, I guess it happens.... I should be happy though b/c I did run yesterday and I am super sore today and 143 is waaaay better then 160, right?? so with that being said, I'm over it and proud of myself! Until next monday..... here goes nothing... Yesterday's grubbage arnolds 1 laughing cow 1 chips 4 hoagie 8 teddy grahams (I am banning them this week!) 3 Chicken bake 6 cocktails 2 Total: 25 Water: 88 Activity: ran 2.5/walked 2.5

Competition....

My friend went to Ridley Creek today to run/walk the 5 mile trail...this inspired me to get my rear up and run/walk the trail as well. She runs almost all of the trail..b/c of that I was able to push myself to run 1/2 of it :) Woo Hoo...way to go!!! Well anyway.... This brings me to my thought for the day: Competition.... it's such a jeckal/hyde type of feeling. It is such a wonderful, positive motivator to do good things, get in shape, work out, push yourself, do your best at work, be creative, outgoing, etc.... BUT it also can turn pretty ugly as well....when does it take that turn from bringing out the best to unleashing the worst????? When I started to run, I told myself to just take it slow and steady and focus on breathing, the weather, what I'm going to do today, the song on my ipod, ANYTHING other then the time and what mile marker I am on. This was working... I kept using internal positive motivation, "You can do this", "you are doing this", "

Today's Menu....

I figured I would post tonight due to the fact that I am forcing myself to be done eating for the day! I am drinking some tea to hold off my craving for ice cream! Sooooo NOT the same, but what can ya do.... Yogurt 1 pudding 1 toast 3 stuffed mushrooms 3 mac and cheese 3 peanuts 4 chips 1 salad 2 rice 2 potatoes 3 chicken 3 total: 26 Over: 5 Bonus Left: 23

Bad Luck....

So this week, I went to the Phillies game on Saturday and they lost.... then I went to the Flyers game on Tuesday night and they lost and then I went to the Phillies again today and they lost again...What's up with that crap.... Boo to them....or maybe boo to me...I prefer boo to them, it could never be my fault :) Which brings me to another funny thought.... Did you ever think about the superstitious things that people do and believe that it helps teams win games. Perhaps it's the shirt that you wore or the place where you watched the game, maybe the spot on the couch that you sat, or if you took a shower that day, what you ate, who you went to the game with, who you watched the game with, what cup you drank out of during the game, what color your hat is, if someone called you that day, if another team won or lost that day, where you order your food from for the game, what color underwear you have on, if you know someone who "has bad luck" is going to the game, the

The boyfriend found me some new delicious baked chips and I wanted to share. 13 chips for 2 points and they are delicous.... come on they are made by Herr's, how could they not be?!?! They come in Sour Cream and Onion, Cheddar and Sour Cream, BBQ and Plain! Fabulous :) I just had a thought... how good would it be to bread and then bake chicken using the chips as your breading! Hmmm...might have to try that out!

Weighin in is weighin on me...

I hate Sunday night b/c Monday is weigh in... but why should I care so much?? I feel great, look great and should be so proud of myself... so I'm trying to tell myself that the "number" is just a number. It's all about how you look, feel and how your clothes look and feel.....Right?? Right.... I'm trying to convince myself....can ya tell?? :)

You Go Girl!

I saw one of my really good friends this weekend who I haven't seen in about a week and a half and SHE LOOKED GREAT! I could def. tell that she lost weight! She has been doing WW as long as me and she lost right around the same amount as me and you can really see it! It's funny, I guess that it takes a certain amount of weeks before you can see the difference or maybe you should hide in your house for a week or two away from everyone when you diet b/c it seems that unless you don't see someone for a period of time, it's harder to notice the weight loss! But anyway I wanted to say great job to my great friend! I'm proud of you!!

Weekend Grubbage.... why are they always the most difficult??

Where do you go from your goal???

So funny... I just saw this question posted on the blog http://www.ronisweigh.com/ that I read everyday and recently I have been thinking the same thing.... Hi Roni! My question is about maintaining… I have very similar stats to you.. I am 26 years old. I started at 213 lbs over a year ago and now i am at about 141-143, on any given day (you know how that goes) anyway… now that i have moved into maintenance mode- I find it difficult getting out of the weight-loss mindset. I have done well making adjustments like cutting out artificial sweeteners and opting for the higher calorie more natural versions of foods and also eating several smalls meals per day instead of restricting myself like i was before. My point is.. I could wake up every day this week and see 142 on that scale and be "sort of" disappointed that i didn’t lose weight.. even though i don’t want to lose any more weight!! I’m happy at this weight! How can i get my brain to accept that i am doing things the right w

Super Snack

Image
Another one of my bestest girlfriends who is on the WW train as well found a fabulous 2 point snack that I am stealing from her and passing onto you.... She was in the mood for something salty and crunchy and cheesy and yummy so she went to the snack cabinet and found a bag of tostitoes. She calculated the points and saw that 9 chips were 3 points. Well of course like any other chip lover ou t there, 9 just wasn't going to cut it. SO...she decided to bake a 1 point tortilla shell in the oven and make her own chips. She used the La Tortilla Factory soft tortilla shell (they are b/n 8 and 13 grams of fiber) and 2 tablespoons of the tostito cheese dip which is 1 point. The tortilla shell made about 21 chips and the cheese dip was plenty to go around. So I call this one heck of a salty, crunchy, cheesy, satisfying snack :) Enjoy!

1 point Peanut Butter Brownie Cookies

My good friend discovered these in the WW magazine. She made them and I was lucky enough to get to try one....They are fabulous!!! and only 1 point!! That's what makes them even better! Peanut Butter Brownie Cookies 2 1/3 cups low fat brownie mix (such as Betty Crocker) 3 Tablespoons natural style chunky PB (I used not natural) 2 Tablespoons 1% low-fat milk (I used skim) 2 Tablespoons egg substitute Cooking Spray 2 Tablespoons lightly salted dry roasted peanuts chopped ( I used mini choc chips- 2 each cookie) Directions 1. Preheat oven to 3752. 2. Combine brownie mix, PB, milk and egg substitute. 3. Drop by spoonful onto cookie sheet about an inch apart. 4. Sprinkle peanuts or choc. chips onto cookie- pressing gently. 5. Bake 375 for 9 min. or until puffed (25 cookies 1 point) 65 cal, 2.1 fat, 0.5 fib.

H 2 Oh my goodness......

Image
It's funny, in the past several days a couple diff. people asked me how much water I drink a day. When I say 88 ounces, they look at me like what a weird amount. Is that how much you are suppossed to have?? I laugh and try to explain what the container looks like that I sit out on my desk at work or counter at home and literally pour cups out of and chug all day until it's gone..... Since I couldn't explain it, I took a picture. It's funny too, b/c sometimes the cup or glass that I drink out of makes a difference in how easy it is to drink the water. I really, really think that it is such a big help in losing weight or "curbing" my appetite as they say. How do you curb your appetite anyway??? I guess they mean park it or put it on hold... anyway random thought... so here is a picture of my water container and my blue party cup :) Like I'm back in college at a kegger...hahahahha so chug, chug, chug...... cheers to rubbermaid.... Harry Kalas

Image
What a sad day... Harry Kalas, the longtime Phillies announcer died. Every story that I've ever heard people tell about him has always been so nice, giving, and caring. Just stinks...

Not soooo bad...

So after my holiday week, I gained .2. However, I feel like I gained more... but anyway, enough of that! I hate that sometimes, well alot of the time this diet stuff, weight, what to eat, how I feel, what I should do, shouldn't have done... consumes me! It is so hard not to focus on it, but I can't help it!! I was thinking yesterday that I am going to continue the "dieting" part of this until May 1st, but then as of May 1st, I'm going to encorporate some daily exercise into my life. By then it should be consistently warm outside! There is a track near my house that I will go to and also a beautiful 5 mile hike about 15 minutes from my house, Ridley Creek State Park. I attached the link in case you would like to check out for yourself! http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateParks/parks/ridleycreek.aspx So I go back to work tomorrow, not looking forward to that at all. BUT I cannot complain, due to the fact that I am a teacher and we have 8 weeks left!!! Yup, 8 week

Layered Strawberry Cheesecake Bowl (3 pts/serving)

Image
This dessert was on the cover of Kraft Food and Family magazine and it was pretty lowfat to begin with, but I made it even healthier! It really was delicious and very simple to make. I'm sure you could switch the pudding to your liking as well as the fruit too. Here is what I used: 3 cups sliced fresh strawberries 3 Tbsp. Splenda 2 pkg. (8 oz. each) PHILADELPHIA Fat Free cream cheese, softened 1-1/2 cups skim milk 1 pkg. (3.4 oz.) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding 2 cups thawed Fat Free COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, divided 2 cups angel food cake cubed 1 square BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate (optional) To make: 1.) COMBINE berries and sugar; refrigerate until ready to use. Beat cream cheese with mixer until creamy. Gradually beat in milk. Add dry pudding mix; mix well. 2.) BLEND in 1-1/2 cups COOL WHIP. Spoon half into 2-1/2-qt. bowl 3.) TOP with layers of cake, berries and remaining cream cheese mixture. Refrigerate 4 hours. 4.) Optional: Melt and drizzle chocolate overtop or

OMG...can this holiday break please end! :)

Okay..... so the past few days have been nothing but an eating festival (not that I'm complaining)!! Wait until you get a load of my last few days of eating.... It is just too hard at the holidays. Not that I think I am eating anywhere close to what damage I could have done in years past, but it doesn't take much pie, cake, cookies and candy to get to your point limit for the day....and that is by around 10 am! haha... but anyway, I hope that you are enjoying your holiday as much as I have been! Back to business tomorrow, but for today Bon Appetit! Zoobilee Zoo

Image
I haven't been feeling great for the past couple of days. It was the weirdest sickness. Started with the boyfriend at the beginning of the week and then I got it in the middle. It was so hard to explain, it was a gross achey, sick to my stomach feeling. No headache, sore throat, runny nose, vomitting, fever... just achey, achey, might get sick at some point feeling. Not fun at all! However, we still managed to go to the Philadelphia Zoo yesterday, it was such a beautiful day! I forgot how much fun going to the zoo can be. It really makes you feel like a kid again and it's nice to take some time to appreciate the little joys of life. My little friend is still too young to fully understand and enjoy the animals, but he sure did love to get down and run around and around and around! He learned a new word yesterday, tur-tle , it was too cute. We spent the day with the boyfriends brother and sister-in-law and their two peanuts. It was a really nice day, I'm so glad that we ended

I'm off work, not off WW!

K, so I've been off for the week and I think I've eaten more junk in the past 3 days that I have eaten in the past two months. I give major props to my girlfriend that manages to say no thanks to her kids and their treats, snacks, candy, chips, dips, cookies, cakes, peanut butter, ice cream, etc. everyday! I'm having a hard time and I've only been home for 3 days! I'm hoping that you just get used to it or I'm in for a LONG summer! haha... With that being said here is yesterday's food (which included lunch out with a girlfriend and the Phillies game with friends at night!) egg whites cheese 2 salad 5 1/4 bbq pork quesadilla 7 1 spring roll 2 Chickies and Petes cheese fries 5 (YYYYUUUUMMMMM!!!!) Getting Started

Image
So a few people have asked me recently well how do I start, what do I do, so I've decided to explain the process and re-post my websites that I use. Here you go: 1.) Use http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080207230153AAQ06kr to figure out how many points you are allowed to have daily 2.) You also get an additional 35 points to use throughout the week. However you cannot carry over your daily points. 3.) WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN! A good quote to follow is "You bite it, you write it!" Carry your food journal wherever you go! 4.) Make sure that you measure all of your food , count out serving size amounts and invest in a food scale. I bought one for $5.00 at target. 5.) Tip: Pick foods higher in fiber, they are lower in points. 6.) Use these websites to calculate points and start writing and adding and that's about all there is to it! (Add them to your favorites!) It's a girl thing....

So I started to see a pattern with my weight loss. This is how the month goes (I'm starting the month the week after you know who visits).... 1st week (lose 3-5 pounds) 2nd week (lose 1 pound) 3rd week (lose 5-8 ounces) 4th week (lose 1 ounce if lucky!) haha I guess that's how you can keep up an average of 1-2 pounds a week though, it's funny how it all works out in the end... but anyway this is a great week...so I'm going to enjoy it! So if you feel like you are stuck on the same number or two for a couple weeks in a row...it is normal (unfortunately) but then it all works out in the end! Just stick with it!

Lots of support in little ways...

Yesterday the boyfriend took me out to buy me some new pants! Not only new pants, but new size 8 pants!!! That was so exciting.... He's been so supportive to me throughout this whole journey. He makes dinner most nights (I know, how lucky am I!!) and he will leave out the boxes of whatever he used to cook so that I can count/calc points. He also leaves out the measuring cup so that I can scoop and measure my food before he takes his.... so cute, it's def. the little things that count! He is super supportive and I feel very lucky.... Yummy Laughing Cow Recipes

Image
Laughing cow cheese is delicious and it's only 1 point per wedge!! Here are some yummy recipes that I found and wanted to share. It comes in three flavors, original, herb and garlic and french onion. They are all delicious and taste like a creamier version of cream cheeese. Stuffed Mushrooms Serving Size : 16 3 cup mushrooms 12 wedges Laughing Cow Cheese — Light - Garlic & Herb flavored 1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs Clean mushrooms and remove stems. Chop stems. Unwrap cheeses and place in microwave for 30 seconds to 1 minute to soften. Combine crumbs, mushroom stems and cheese. Take spoonfuls and fill mushroom caps. Place mushroom caps filling side up on ungreased cookie sheet. Cook 20 minutes at 400 degrees Farenheit or until stuffing is lightly browned on top. Let cool, then serve. Mushrooms will be juicy. Popcorn!

Image
Too funny. I had the hardest time figuring out how many points my Orville Redenbacher 94% fat free smart pop popcorn was for the WHOLE bag... well apparently I'm not alone.... I was on my favorite blogsite, Roni's Weigh and found this old post of hers: This is one of the most asked questions on the Weight Watchers boards. Why is it so tough calculate points for popcorn? Let me break down the brand I eat. Orville Redenbacher’s Smart Pop 94% Fat Free Butter 2.9oz bag (regular size bag, not the mini or 100 cal pack)According to the bag, a serving size is 3 tbsp unpopped (7 cups popped) there are 2 servings per container which means the bag contains 6 tbsp of unpopped popcorn (14 popped) Nutritional information for 6tbsp unpopped: 240 calories 4 g of fat 8 g of Fiber 4 points Now the bag gives the calorie count for 1 cup popped as 15 calories. If you multiply that by 14 (number of cups in the bag) you get 255 calories for the bag. This still gives you 4 points. So, no matter how yo

Boring

I feel that I've been pretty boring lately. Whenever the computer is not available I am able to think of 100 different things to write about and then when I sit down to write it seems that nothing is coming out... I am just going to give you a couple of my random thoughts.... 1.) A new month.... nothing gives me more joy at work then changing the calendar to a new month. I love each month of the year for a different reason. I didn't even realize that I loved April as much as I do until I started looking through pictures of my 15 month old little friend from last year at this time and noticed that he was in shorts!! I cannot wait, not for shorts, but for the nice weather. It seems to make everyone smile a little bigger. 2.) Spring...When I think of spring I think of...the Phillies (the world fn' champions haha), BBQ's, shorts, sunny days, cool breezes, thunder storms, Easter, flowers, playing outside, resee peanut butter cup easter eggs, spring break, walking the dog, go

Question...

Did you miss me this morning??? If you did or were waiting for my post that is one more thing that I am thankful for!! Love you all!

K....

So today has been insane due to the fact that it is conference time at school and for some reason parents think that conferences are 1 hour long instead of the 20 minutes that they signed up for.... I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that I talk and talk and talk some more... But anyway I only had 3 conferences lasting the past 3 hours... I am a mess....haha... I do feel like it's nice for the parents as well as myself to come in and chat. I did get alot of dirt today and if you know me I love the dirt.... bet you wish that I would share.... but I'm sure there is some Hippa law out there that forbids me....but just know that it was juicy and had to do with two babies mommas , 5 kids......one Daddy...... LOL Anyway weigh in went okay. Lost .6, as my friend told me today, this diet stuff is teaching me alot of patience...which is def. something that I need to work on.... So not only am I losing weight but I'm gaining some patience. So that is two great things tha

Beware: Texting and Dogs Don't Mix

Here's the scene.... It's Friday night, just finished dinner, all is calm, all is well.... I'm watching TV with the boyfriend and texting back and forth with my friends when all of the sudden my beast of a dog decided that she wanted to play and play and play and play.... she is only 7 months old so for all of you dog people out there.... quite possibly you can relate. Well anyway the boyfriend is playing with her for about 10 minutes while I'm on the couch texting away.... he finally says to me can you please get off the damn phone for a minute and play with this dog. OOPS....according to him, the phone is an extension of my right arm.....(unfortunately he is correct!) SO....without saying anything, I try to happily sit on the floor and play with the dog... while placing my phone on silent and continuing to text away..... Well all of the sudden I put the phone over my face to read a text and the phone slips out of my hands and hits me right on the bridge of my nose.
